Your Data Stays Private
Your MyChart credentials are encrypted at rest. Health data flows directly between your MyChart portal and your AI assistant — we don't store it.
Your records stay on your device
OpenRecord runs on your own machine and calls your MyChart portal directly, the same way your browser does. Your login and your medical records are never uploaded to a Fan Pier Labs server. Asking the AI a question is the one exception, and it is spelled out below.
What stays on your device
- Your MyChart username, password and any passkey are saved on your device and nowhere else
- Every request to your health system comes from your machine, not from ours
- We operate no server that holds your medical records, and there is no OpenRecord account holding a copy of them
- Disconnecting an account deletes the stored credentials, passkey and session from your device
The exception: what the AI sees
- Answering a question about your health means sending the relevant part of your record to an AI model, which runs on someone else's computer
- In the Claude Desktop extension, that is Anthropic, under your own Claude account and its terms
- In the iPhone app's included free tier, it goes to an OpenRecord proxy and on to Google's Gemini API
- Bring your own API key and it goes to that provider instead, never through us
